Özet (EN)
The aim of this study to evaluate the effect of the usage of Nd:YAG and 940 nm diode lasers during root canal treatment on postoperative pain. This clinical study was conducted on 102 subjects requiring root canal treatment and matching the pre-determined inclusion criteria. All subjects were divided into three groups randomly. Root canals in the control group were irrigated with 2,5% NaOCl following preparation with the combination of step-back technique and rotary systems. In addition to what has been done in the control group, Nd:YAG laser was applied in the second group and diode laser was applied in the third group. All canals were filled with the lateral condensation technique using gutta-percha points and sealer. All patients were requested to record their level of postoperative pain on a Visual Analogue Scale at 12th, 24th, 48th and 72nd hours following the treatment. As a result, no statistically significant differences were determined among the groups regarding pain incidence (p>0,05).
