Our results of total hip arthroplasty in patients with coxarthrosis practices

ABSTRACT OUR RESULTS OF TOTAL HIP ARTHROPLASTY IN PATIENTS WITH COXARTHROSIS PRACTICES The aim of this study is to investigate the results of total hip artroplasty operations applied to patients with total hip prothesis indication due to coxarthosis diagnosis. Uncemented total hip arthroplasty was performed on 38 hips of 30 patients diagnosed with coxarthrosis and treated with uncemented total hip prosthetics in our clinic between January 2006- December 2011. Patients' preoperative and final examination Harris Hip Evaluation Score (pain, function, deformity, movement range ), postoperative and final control radiographs compared the stability of femoral and acetabular components were evaluated. The average age of our patients is 56.48, while the youngest patient was 21 and the oldest patient was 77 years of age. Mean follow-up was 30.5 months. In our patients, 22 of them had primary coxarthrosis, one of them had secondary coxarthrosis developed on a background of avascular necrosis of the femoral head , one of them had secondary coxarthrosis developed on a background of ankylosing spondyloarthritis and 6 patients had secondary coxarthrosis developed on a background of rheumatoid arthritis. Patients were evaluated with Harris Hip Evaluation Score. Average preoperative Harris score of the patients was 32.23 and average postoperative score was 89.55. According to these results, excellent results in 16 cases, good in 12 patients, moderate in 2 patients results were obtained. Clinical and radiological results of we applied cementless total hip replacement has been found to be successful when compared with the literature.
