Abstract (EN)

Environmental problems and the environmental impacts are increasing with the developing technology. In this context, applications are developed to minimize environmental impacts. One of the most effective ways to analyze environmental impacts and evaluate these impacts is life cycle evaluation. In this study, the environmental effects of the cataphoresis department of the car seat manufacturer were analyzed using the Ecoinvent database with GABI software. Acidification, eutrophication, global warming, ozone layer depletion, depletion of abiotic sources, toxic effect on freshwater ecosystem, toxicity on human, toxic effect on marine ecosystem and toxic effect on terrestrial ecosystem are evaluated. In cataphoresis process, the effect of painting one seat frame on global warming is calculated as 0,711 kg CO2 equivalent. It was determined that the effect of global warming was caused by energy consumption. In order to reduce the environmental burden of cataphoresis process, improvement suggestions were made.
