Abstract (EN)

The most important problem in the production of lignite, which meets the fuel needs of the thermal power plant, is the inability to ensure the continuity of production in accordance with the working conditions of the power plant and this leads not only to an increase in the cost of energy production but also to a decrease in energy efficiency. The purpose of this thesis study is to determine the excavation parameters which provide the minimum standard deviation value that belongs to the calorific value of lignite produced. For this purpose, a computer software with different algorithms including summary statistical calculations, quantity-quality calculations and short-term production plans of the production boards was developed in accordance with the lignite fields, where lignite with a low calorific value was produced using a bucket wheel excavator. With this software, all possible alternatives are determined by using different excavation parameters are evaluated and optimum alternative is determined. The software developed in this study was applied to Kışlaköy lignite field and 576 alternatives were evaluated for the production boards with an average calorific value variance of 22467.7. As a result, the variance value was calculated as 18714.2 for the worst excavation alternative and 3192.3 for the optimum excavation alternative and this result indicates the success and importance of using the developed software.
