Abstract (EN)

SUMMARY Coal which have big role in air pollution when used as fuel environmentally exposes harmful and highly pollutant components. With the usage of coal the factor effect environment are dust, SOX, NOX and disposal problem wastes with the other gas products. One of the reason of the air pollution is sulfur which exist with the usage of coal as fuel. Coal used in many areas such as heating so coal pollution must be decraesed in minumum levels with developing alternative technologies. Many methods have been developed up to now for the removal of sulfur from coal. In this study trying different techniques and methods, such as oak ashes worked which have implement, cost and processing terms for removal sulfur from the coal thougt as most suitable and newest method. Result of study Show that oak ash have big effect to remove pyritic sulfur in coal. Analysis with Ermenek (Karaman) coal total amount of sulfur the removal efficiency depending on the amount oak ash has been found to between % 17 and % 47. Pyritic sulfur amount the removal efficiency depending on the amount oak ash has been found to between % 13 and % 60. Organic sulfur analysis of samples were performed but there was no effect on oak ash for organik sulfur. Likewise carbon values was no effect on oak ash. Tunçbilek (Kütahya) coal total amount of the removal efficiency depending on the amount oak ash has been found to between % 8 and % 59. Pyritic sulfur amount the removal efficiency depending on the amount oak ash has been found to between % 15 and % 28. Organic sulfur values were no effect on oak ash for organik sulfur. Likewise carbon and caloric values were no effect on oak ash. Sorgun (Yozgat) coal total amount of the removal efficiency depending on the amount oak ash has been found to between % 20 and % 29. Pyritic sulfur amount the removal efficiency depending on the amount oak ash has been found to between % 42 and % 58. Organic sulfur analysis of samples were no effect of oak ash. Burdur coal total amount of sulfur the removal efficiency depending on the amount oak ash has been found to between % 26 and % 41. Pyritic sulfur amount the removal efficiency depending on the amount oak ash has been found to between % 25 and % 54. Organic sulfur analysis of samples were no effect of oak ash. Also was measured carbon and caloric values. It was observed that didn't show much change. On the other way, it has been found to be more effective oak ash added potassium hydroxide. Therefore, it was concluded oak ash apply with potassium hydroxide increased sulfur removal. Key words: Coal, Sulfur, Oak ash, Carbon, Removal
