Abstract (EN)

In this study in 1879, transfer jointly by Ahmet Mithat Efendi and Wilhelm Wiesenthal, the Arabic book "Konak or a Story of Shaykh Shamil in the Caucasus War" was translated into Latin, and the work was examined in accordance with the art of novel. The novel is historical novel and is described struggles of Chechens and Russians led by Shaykh Shamil. Purpose of the study, first written in German and then by Ahmet Mithat Efendi and Wilhelm Wiesenthal translated into Ottoman Turkish the work, transferring to Latin the alphabet to teach Turkey Turkish. The thesis consists of three parts except for the introduction and conclusion. İnformation about the historical development of translation is given in the introduction and then it is focused on Ahmet Mithat Efendi's translation, after giving information about how Ahmet Mithat Efendi and Wilhelm Wiesenthal met, the life and struggle of Shaykh Samil were mentioned. İn the first chapter, general information about Ahmet Mithat Efendi's life and understanding of art is given. İn the second chapter, "Konak or a Story of Shaykh Samil in the Caucasus War" called the novel which the main part of our study, is included in the third chapter. İn the third chapter, novel was examined according to the art of the novel and in this section the text-based method was used. The translation text, The findings are mentioned in the conclusion part.
