Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between prolidase activity and antioxidant molecules together with other parameters in patients with congenital adrenal hiperplasia and to investigate this relationship. In this page, 85 volunteer patients diagnosed with Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia and 43 essential healthy individuals who are matched for age and gender are included. Prolidase activity was measured by the modified Chinard method, MDA levels by thiobarbituric method, SOD activity by Sun et al., Paraoxanase and Arylesterase levels were measured by a fully automated method in Relay Assay. No significant difference was found between the patient and control groups in terms of age and gender (p> 0.05). Prolidase activity was found to be significantly higher in the patient group compared to the healthy control group (p <0.05). MDA levels in the patient group were found to be significantly higher than the healthy group. (p <0.05). SOD levels were found to be significantly lower in the patient group compared to the healthy control group (p <0.05). No significant difference was found between the patient group and the control group in terms of PON and ARE levels (p> 0.05). Significant differences were found in 17 OH progesterone and 11 deoxycortisol levels between the types of CAH in the patient group. We have seen that Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia produces reactive oxygen species, increased oxidative stress in patients, and a decrease in the activity of the defense system against free radical damage. In addition, we observed that the regularity of prolidase activity manifested itself as disruptions in collagen metabolism. This study suggests that the role of prolidase activity in CAH and its relationship with antioxidant molecules are important for the emergence of new approaches.
