Abstract (EN)

Hydrogen has wide range of usage and adventages in energy area. Not only realization of production but also assurance of high capacity, high purity and low production cost in hydrogen production proseses is required with increasing demand. The aim of this study is to produce high purity hydrogen by thermochemical method. Zinc was used for thermochemical water splitting reaction prosess. High purity hydrogen has been produced by water passing through the melted zinc in the reactor at temperatures of 425 0 C, 450 0 C, 475 0 C and 500 0 C. After capturing water vapour from hydrogen stream, gas analysis has been made by gas chromatography and 100 % hydrogen gas has been obtained. Besides, water injection as vapor has been also studied with carrier helium gas to produce hydrogen in the same system. Results have been obtained and analyzed for different hydrogen production rates according to controlled water and water vapour feed flow rates.
