Abstract (EN)
Assessing patients with dysphonia many factors are need to be evaluated in an integrated manner. Detailed history, Physical examination, perceptual voice evaluation, measuring acoustic and aerodynamic parameters supplies important information during this process. It is thought that many of the vocal fold disorders are associated with habitual vocal misuse. Therefore, while assessing patients with dysphonia habitual vocal use, specially talkativeness and vocal loudness, must be considered. Simple self-reported questionnaries and scales could be used. There has not yet any optimal universal assessment method been defined to assess voice and vocie disorders though developing technology and new analysis methods. There is need to be founded practical assessment methods which could be supported by measurable objective parameters.Speech Range Profile (SRP) can be used to analyse customary voice. SRP is an easy-to-apply and non-invasive method which can give data about physicatl capacity of voice production system while an individual performs Daily voice-related activities. We aimed to evaluate clinical additional value of SRP method for assessing voice coccomitant with traditional voice s assessment methods such as GRB and VHI-10. Demoghraphic data, voice related medical history, self-reported visual analogue scale of talkativeness and vocal loudness, perceptal voice quality assessment using GRB, voice related quality of life using VHI-10 were gathered. SRP performed on the voice recordings of reading a passage and shoting as /hey/. Analysed SRP parameters were; Fmin, Fmax, F0 Range, F0 Range [st], Imin, Imax. 221 voluntary individuals with 18 to 84 yo were included in the study. Two groups were founded as; healthy control group includes 80 individuals (40 W, 40 M) and dysphonic group includes 141 patients with dysphonia (68 W, 73 M). Mean age groups were 43.1±13.7 and 41.5±11.8 for dysphonia and control groups consequently. There were no statistically signiificant difference between talkativeness and vocal loudness scores of control and dysphonia goups. Dysphonia group had signiificantly higher VHI-10 ve GRB ssores than that of control group. Frequency range profile score and intensity range profile score were significantly lower in patients with dysphonia. VAS score of patients with cocal fold nodule, polyp, haemorragy and edema were significantly higher than that of both control group and the patients with other voice disorders. VAS score of patients with cocal fold nodule, polyp, haemorragy and edema had significant correlation with Fmin, Fmax, F0 Range, F0 Range [st], Imin, Imax ve I Range parameters. Physiological voice production capacity had negative correlation with habitual talkativeness and vocal loudness scores of dysphonia goup. Results of this study pointed out that SRP is an easy applicable and alternative voice assessment method. We recommend using self-reported habitual talkativeness and vocal loudness scores while evaluating the efficacy of treatment results while evaluating and treating the patients with dysphonia.
