The study focused on Solidarity System, which is relatively new and unique residential housing financing approach. The research attempted to reveal the motivations behind and the level of satisfaction of people who have purchased house by ?solidarity system? as an alternative to bank credits. The research sample covers about 303 individuals who were interviewed over phone, took about 5 minutes for each interview.The study is consisting of both literature review and field survey. A questionnaire form has been developed to collect the data for fulfilling research objectives. According the research findings; 63 % of those who chosen solidarity system stated to have informed about the system from their friends, while 88% of them recommended the system, %64 of them have helped others to own/purchase a house by the solidarity system. Additionally it has been found that, 71% of participants have stated the reasons behind their choice were that the system has no relation with interest. Finally, 49 % of participants have claimed that if the system were under the control and supervision of government, the system would enjoy wide spread acceptance among home buyers. The study affirmed that there are a considerable number of people who want to own a house other than bank credit financing. It was determined that, 71 % of whom have stated to chosen non-bank financing alternatives due to ?interest? concerns. The other finding was that, system requires a further interpretation by expert and disseminated to public appropriately. Key Words: Housing financing, Solidarity system, Gold-changing day
