Factors of affecting the preferences of the consumers in the use of housing credits: The case of Burdur

One of the most basic needs of people from past to present is the need for housing. In today's modern world, people meet their housing needs by buying house or building a house. When the housing demand is considered, people also demand a house as investment purposes in addition to housing needs. In this study, the answer of which bank preferred why people use loans from banks to buy housing was investigated. The data obtained by reaching the consumers through the questionnaire were analyzed in SPSS program. Some of the inferences have been made as a result of the analysis of the factors affecting the preferences of the consumers in housing loans by evaluating the answers given to the survey questions of the consumers who are using or considering to use loans from banks. In the first part of the study, the reasons of banks' existence and basic operations are emphasized. In the second part, credit concept and mortgage loan are explained. In the third part, factors affecting consumer behaviours and consumer behaviours are included. In the fourth and last part, the statistical analysis of the factors affecting the bank preferences while the consumers were using mortgage loans from banks was made with the help of the survey which was conducted in Burdur province. In the light of the results obtained from this statistical study, recommendations have been made to guide the credit policies of banks.
