Özet (EN)

Houses are the pioneers of change and development with each passing period. With the developing technological possibilities, free and innovative approaches to housing designs are emerging. One of these approaches is to gradually increase the ratio between the openings on the facades of the houses and the closed surfaces. As the openings that allow daylight to reach the interior increases, it becomes more difficult to solve the problems caused by daylight. For this reason, the use of daylight in the interior design phase and the prevention of daylight-related problems (glare and illuminance level) provide benefits to designers in meeting the cognitive and physiological needs of the users, and maximum efficiency should be achieved with the use of energy-efficient daylight. Interior shading elements, also known as curtains, model, fabric type, fabric thickness, direction of movement and light transmittance determine the design decisions for the use of daylight in the interior. Within the purpose of this study, it is aimed to reveal the effect of indoor shading systems applied in residential living areas on preventing daylight-related problems and using daylight. In this context, in the first stage of the thesis study, interviews were conducted with civil architecture offices and companies that make interior shading element applications, by semi-structured interview technique. In the second stage, a simulation model was created by applying the scanning model technique with the data obtained from the first stage and daylight analyses were performed on the model. Daylight analyzes consist of two different scenarios performed on 21 June and 21 December. In this context, the daylight factor and illuminance levels for both those dates and the months were reached. As a result of the study; rustic, balloon and roman curtain models do not prevent glare; It has been determined that double breasted, rustic, balloon and roman curtain models cannot transmit the light into the depths of the space.
