Conversion disorder patients' serum adiponectin,galanin,leptin and ghrelin levels

a. Introduction and aim: Suggested to play a role in the etiopathogenesis of various psychiatric disorders may also play a role in the etiopathogenesis of neuropeptides thought CD and in CD group, we looked at serum levels of adiponectin, galanin, leptin, ghrelin and compared with healthy controls.b. Methods: The study, between October 2010 - September 2011 Turgut Özal Medical Center clinic for patients who were diagnosed with conversion disorder. Between the ages of 15-65, a group of 45 patients matched with similar age, gender and level of education 31 healthy volunteers. To exclude the possible confounding factors other than in accordance with the DSM-IV axis I and axis II diagnoses excluded from the study.c. Results: In this study, adiponectin levels were significantly higher in the patient group with CD. There was no significant difference in ghrelin levels. Leptin levels were significantly higher in the patient group. Galanin levels were significantly lower in the patient group.d. Discussion: The intense anxiety somatization were changes in the expression levels of the neuropeptids in CD patients. Psychobiological factors that contribute to stress resilience can be supplemented by new ones in this study. Low galanin and ghrelin may support CD patients? higher vulnerability. Aimed at increasing the height of adiponectin and leptin suggesting that the stress resistance.
