Abstract (EN)
This thesis is a survey on some approximation properties of singular integral operatorsin the approximation theory. One of the fundamental problems of analysis isto approximate a given function f in some sense or other by functions having certainproperties, and generally, by functions which have ?better? properties than f . It is tobe expected that the better behaved functions are to be constructed from the given fby some smoothing operation on f itself. This thesis consists of four chapters. Thefirst chapter is devoted to the introduction. The second chapter contains, concepts anddefinitions which are needed in the further chapters. In the third chapter, studied convergenceof linear convolution type singular integrals. In the fourth chapter, investigateconvergence of nonlinear convolution type singular integral operators. And there is astudy of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Harun Karslı which deals with the approximation propertiesof nonlinear singular integral operators of convolution type.
