Konya-Derebucak rural housing architecture: The Example of Pınarbaşı village

Traditional houses are important cultural assets that reflect our culture and history, help transfer them to the future. In rural settlements such as village and town, nature and climate-compatible traditional housing examples are quite high. There are many traditional housing with unique architectural character in the Pınarbaşı neighborhood of Derebucak, which is 140 km away from Konya. The architectural and aesthetic features of these houses should be determined without losing. In this study, it is aimed to determine the architectural features of Pınarbaşı houses which are changing and disappearing with each passing day and to ensure the permanence of bring in the literature. The aim, scope and method of the study are explained in the introduction part of the thesis. In the second part the Turkish house and in the third part the rural architecture is explained in general terms. In the fourth section, history, geographical and settlement characteristics of Derebucak district are located. In the fifth chapter, seven sample structures are examined in technical terms and detailed with photographs and survey drawings. In the sixth section, examples of civil architecture found in the village are given place. In the seventh section, Pınarbaşı houses were evaluated in terms of their architectural features and construction techniques and searched place in Turkish house. In the last section, conclusions and recommendations are presented in the light of the evaluations. About the topic, all the houses in Pınarbaşı have been examined and traditional houses have been identified. It was determined that the majority of the houses examined were built with internal hall and some with external hall. The similarity of the architectural features of the houses is remarkable. For this reason, it is possible to talk about a group of buildings that we can call Traditional Pınarbaşı houses. It is important to preserve the architectural and develop historical values of these houses and to transfer the cultural heritage to the future. By restoring their lost identities, they can contribute to improving the tourism characteristics of the region
