Examination of traditional civil architecture examples in the province of Konya -Ereğli in terms of plan features

Abstract (EN)

In this study prepared as a master thesis; Traditional houses built in the early 20th century in Eregli district of Konya were examined in terms of plan, façade and decoration features. In this context, Part 1 is considered as the aim, scope, method and literature of the study. In the second part, the general characteristics of Konya Ereğli and the concept of Traditional Housing are explained. The historical and cultural heritage of Ereğli are examined and geographical location, climate and population characteristics are indicated. Development stages and characteristics of Turkish House plan types are explained. In the third part, traditional housing examples of Ereğli district of Konya are examined. The plan schemes, facade and decoration features of the houses are documented with photographs and supported by drawings. The survey projects of the buildings were prepared and their plan schemas were prepared and their existing states were recorded with photographs. In Chapter 4, the plan, material-technique and decoration features of Ereğli Houses are compared with Traditional Konya Houses and the similarities with Traditional Konya Houses are revealed. In Section 5, conclusions and suggestions were added and the conservation of traditional housing samples in Ereğli District was reached by making use of the Ereğli District Conservation Plan and Plan provisions. In the study, the number of houses was limited due to the lack of permits and the collapse of them in a short time. With this study, a database was created with traditional houses in Eregli district of Konya. Keywords: Ereğli, Konya, Survey, Traditional housing, Turkish house
