The analysis of the Küçük Muhsine carpets in Konya Ethnography Museum

The Ethnography Museum of Konya was opened to service at 1975 by the General Directorate for Cultural Heritage and Museums.The museum serves at a three-story reinforced-concrete construction in which there is a ground and first floor over the basement. Dr Mehmet Önder Conference Hall and Exhibition Hall of Museum is at the ground floor and there is a compartment At the basement floor where the carpets are exhibited. The administrative offices and storages of pieces are at the first floor.There are carpet pieces that belong to Seljuk's', Ottoman and Republic period of Turkey and also some other carpet examples from different production centers of Anatolia. Among them, the most important examples are Seljuk's carpets which came from Beyşehir Eşrefoğlu Mosque and other pieces retrieved from Konya Alaeddin Mosque, Selimiye Mosque and Konya Mevlana Dervish Lodge. Among the exhibited carpets, there are important carpet production centers such as Karapınar, Sille, Ladik, Küçük Muhsine, Kavak, Karaman, Derbent on top of Uşak, Kula, Gördes, Mucur and Bergama. In addition, the ethnographic art collection of Refet Yardımcı and Kenan Özbel is displayed at the exhibition hall of the museum.In the scope of the thesis which is "The Analysis of Küçük Muhsine Carpets in Ethnography Museum of Konya", 27 Küçük Muhsine carpets are examined. Küçük Muhsine Village's background is dated to 13th-century Anatolian Seljuk's era in the sources. It is known that there was a carpet weaving history in the past of village.
