Özet (EN)

This thesis is about the effects of snowfall on the power quality of photovoltaic plants connected to the low voltage distribution system. Power quality deteriorations in the grid due to the effect of snowfall were investigated on two different photovoltaic plants with string inverter and microinverter structures. The string inverter system which has two independent array inputs consists of 2x18 mono-crystalline photovoltaic modules which are placed with a fixed south direction and horizontal position. The microinverter system consists of 18 polycrystalline photovoltaic modules mounted on the carrier system in the south direction and horizontal position. Multifunctional network analyzers were connected to the common connection points of these facilities with the grid, and their effects on power quality were measured. The compliance of the power quality variables obtained from the network analyzers with the limit values specified in the current national regulations and international standards has been examined. As a result of this thesis study, it has been shown that photovoltaic plants have a significant effect on the quality variables known as voltage deviation, reactive power, power factor, and current harmonic distortion in power systems during sunrise, sunset and this effect increases when snowfall is effective.
