Abstract (EN)
Urban life different societies of the world contains many differences. There have also been changes in the structure of cities due to socio-economic developments. While urban life were defined by the concepts castle ant wall in the ancient times today it is defined by different criteria such as economic activities, population density, employment structure and social activities. Nowadays, with the increase of attractive opportunities of the city and the level of education, migration from rural to urban areas has accelerated and urbanization speed and urbanization rate have gradually increased because of the employment and education and social needs. Increasing population and rapid construction in cities also made planning difficult. Recently, with the use of Geographical Information Systems and Remote Sensing Technologies planning has become easier. With the use of Geographical Information Systems, the maps and plans have been digitized and also thanks to it processing and analyzing of the the information has become easier. Furthermore, the comparison of old and new satellite images and the observation of changes in land use have been posible with the help of Remote Sensing. Destruction of agricultural and forest areas can be easily monitored. The aim of this study is; To determine the spatial and demographic development of the Konyaaltı district with Geographical Information Systems, to analyze the factors affecting this development and to estimate the spatial development direction by evaluating the development factors in the future historical process. Konyaaltı city is one of the most suitable areas to spread alongside the urban area of Antalya. The spread of the city is at the same rate as the rapid population growth and makes the planning difficult. In the study; Written sources of spatial and demographic development and change process of Konyaalti district were examined and a method based on a comparative evaluation of current maps, satellite images (old and new), zoning plans and report outputs was used. In this study, the reasons of population growth, factors affecting urbanization and urban spread are related with geographical factors and are discussed with cause and effect relationship. As a result of the study, the population of Konyaalti has increased rapidly as a result of intensive migration based on tourism in Konyaalti district between 1990 and 2000s. This increase led to rapid urbanization and led to the opening of new settlements in Konyaalti. The temporal change of the study area was analyzed by satellite images, maps and tables and the results were reported.
