Abstract (EN)

In this study, the prototype of a coordinate measuring machine, which moves along the X, Y, Z coordinate axes, compares the dimensions of an object, and records its measurements as a point cloud was made. Working distances on the X, Y, Z axes were determined as 500 mm, and each axis was limited by a limit switch. In Visual Studio 2015, an interface was designed in Visual Basic programming language to model the recorded point clouds. When the probe touches the object, this software gets the coordinate value in X, Y, Z axis format. These values are displayed line by line in the interface and are also saved as a text file. By using the software's interface, the final modelling of the object, whose coordinates are recorded, is obtained by combining its point clouds with the help of SolidWorks API (Application Programming Interface) library. In the performance tests of the prototype coordinate measuring machine, averages were found as 0,043 mm on the X axis, 0,0354 mm on the Y axis and 0,0385 mm on the Z axis as a result of the measurements made with the dial gauge. 0,043 mm largest value obtained from the measurements made with the dial gauge was accepted as the accuracy of the machine's axes. In the measurements made by connecting the probe, average results were found as 0,14 mm on the X axis, 0,13 mm on the Y axis and 0,09 mm on the Z axis. In the tests carried out on the test sample, the largest measurement difference was 0,09 mm, and the smallest measurement difference was 0,07 mm. In line with these results, the overall accuracy of the probe was accepted as 0,14 mm.
