Özet (EN)

It is a universally known fact that music has a significant spot in religion. The formation of music cannot be separated from religion. Shamanic ritual music and dances, which are seen as the primitive form of music, still exist today. These are so powerful in meaning that comparative musicology and ethnic musicology contribute to music and art by facilitating research in these areas. The impact of music has additionally been embraced in Judaism, Islam, and Christianity. As mentioned before, religion and music have been connected since ancient civilizations. In India and Ancient China, which is considered as the birthplace of ancient civilizations, a large population and various ethnic groups lived in various religions. Thus, music developed with various religions such as Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and Buddhism. The music has had a wide variety of complex traditions for 2,500 years until the emergence of Buddhism. Buddhism emerged in ancient India and reached its destination in the southern part of India, to Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and Myanmar. On the north side, Buddism reached Korea and Japan as a result of the spread to Tibet, as well as Central Asia, and China. Buddhism, that will be mentioned in our study, is the Korean people's unification of their local beliefs and cultures and converting them into today's Buddhism, which represents the unique characteristics of Korea. In this study, Mawlavi Sufism will be mentioned along with Korean Buddhism. Mawlavi Sufism is an Islamic sect launched by Mevlâna Celaddiin-i Rumi. Currently, the city of Konya in Turkey is considered to be the holy city of Mawlavi Sufism. In this study, Mawlavi Sufist and Buddhist music, which have a large number of disciples around the world, were examined, their history and structures were enlightened and finally compared with each other. As stated above, when religions emerged and spreaded to numerous nations and countries, they are not only transferred in their original form but mixed with the culture, tradition and local religions of the nation. This study is not only a comparative study of Mawlavi Sufism and Buddhism music but also a detailed study of this two religious music reflecting their culture.
