Korean War and Gaziantep Korean veterans

The Korean peninsula which is important for geopolitical and geostrategic points has been the scene of attacks, wars and occupations throughout the history. Before and during the second world war, the peninsula which was under the occupation of Japan, has been occupied by the United States and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics at the end of the war with the excuse of taking back the Japanese soldiers. After The Second World War, United States and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics which were emerged as two dominant power in the world politics as a result of the changing international balances, has started the struggle in Korea. With the attact of North Korea against to South Korea, the war has started on 25 June 1950, The United Nations have undertaken an active role in order to ensure peace in the region. Turkey, a member of the United Nation, participated in this war by a brigade soldier. After The Second World War, the decision of Turkey to send the soldiers to Korea, exposed the threats of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, has several replication inside and outside the country.
