Özet (EN)
After World War I, ?great powers? started new process that wanted to share Middle East. The cold war was the period of conflict, tension and competition between United States of America and the Soviet Union. The role of Turkey gained significance for U.S.A. with its geostrategic location in the Middel east countries. After the dissolution of the Soviet Union, U.S.A foreign policy had to changed. It was thought that Turkey would lose its strategic role in the region. When Gulf War had started, this war made Turkey once again crucial to a high priority U.S.A. foreign policy objective.This thesis examines relations between Turkey and U.S.A., the duration, when Iraq invaved Kuwait in 1990, started and went on until the establishment of an Independet Kurdish Government in North of Iraq.
