Abstract (EN)
Although rare, contrast material used during angiography, has been shown to induce life threatening arrhythmias. QT dispersion an indicator of heterogeneous ventricular repolarization is considered as an independent risk factor for the occurrence of arrhythmias. The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of iohexol used to visualize the coronary arteries on QT dispersion 35 patients with coronary artery disease and 35 patients with normal coronary arterias were included in the study.Although QTd values increased significantly after coronary angiography the values didn?t exceed the pathologic threshold of 65 msec (39,7 ms ? 45,4 ms, p:0,019 ). Patients with normal coronary arteries also manifested increased QTd values after coronary angiography although below 65 ms. In patients with coronary disease the QT parameters were not significantly different before and after coronary angiography. Female patients showed significantly increased QTd values without reaching the pathologic values (35,7 ms - 45,7 ms). In male subjects the QTd didn?t change before and after coronary angiography.
