Abstract (EN)
In this study, the reasons of collapse mechanism of Koror-Babelthuap (Palua) Bridge which was the longest pre-stressed concrete bridge at 1977, due to traffic and climatic factors in 1996 are investigated. The edges foots located on land and the distance of the opening is 240,80 m that has Koror-Babelthuap (Palua) Bridge was repaired for the over displacements. After 3 months of completing repairs, the bridge collapsed. The investigations about the collapse reasons were limited by formal limitations and loss of knowledge. In remodeled bridge on finite elements modal, the displacement of a truck load is compared to real displacement of bridge, the adding forces of pre-stresses was searched in that modal. In this study, for the investigation the ANSYS modal used for the Palau bridge. The widest information?s of modeling the Palua bridge is given by following in this report. The displacements of Palau bridge cause by creeping are off the charts in 19 years time. The repairs by using continuous cables and central flat jack couldn?t solve the problems of cantilevers displacements also did not make changes in bridge stresses.
