Abstract (EN)

Tafel extrapolation method that is often used in order to corrosion rate determination, which could be applied when over potential range of semi-logarithmic current potential curves are linear. In real systems, linear change generally is not obtained due to the resistance and diffusion effects. So, available result could not be obtained with using this method. In this study, different methods, used in order to the determine corrosion rate, were compered and the obtained current potential curves re-interpreted to determine corrosion rate. A new approach or equation was investigated instead of Buttler-Volmer equation to determine the corrosion rate with using experimental polarization curves. Key Words: Buttler-Volmer equation, Tafel extrapolation, Corrosion.
