THE FLORA OF THE KORUMAZ MOUNTAIN (BÜNYAN-KAYSERİ) (Master Thesis) M. Erkan UZUNHİSARCIKLI GAZI UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY June 2002 ABSTRACT The study area consists of Korumaz Dağı and its around in Kayseri. In this study 808 plant specimens were collected. After the determination of specimens we got to result find, the flora is composed of 63 families, 242 genera and 420 taxa which are specific and infraspecific rank. 8 species of them are cultivars. 35 specific and infraspecific taxa are new records for B5 square and 76 taxa are endemic to Turkey (18,44 %). Phytogeographical elements of the area are as follows: Irano- Turanian elements 107 (25,97 %), Mediterranean elements 22 (5,33 %), Euro-Siberian elements 13 (3,15 %) and the others, wide spreaded and those of which phytogeographical region are unidentified, 270 (65,53 %).
