Custodial and supporting measure for child who needs to be preserved and who is dragged into crime

Since the twentieth century, the studies on the children's rights have been globally exerted to acknowledge, to protect and to defend the children's rights considering that the children have different needs than adults and they are regarded to be in a weaker position. Turkey is a state party to the Convention on the rights of the child. Although the concept of child has a wide meaning in Turkish legal system, this study is limited to the concept of child who needs to be preserved and who is dragged into crime. In our legislation, there are many regulations about the protection of children with many general and special features. Our study has been reduced to the custodial and supportive measures taken to secure the children. These custodial and supportive measures are examined on the basis of all regulations, significantly the Law on the Protection of Children No. 5395.
