Abstract (EN)

In terms of social and political perspectives, there has always been mobility during any period of history in Anatolia. After the 1071 Battle of Manzikert, Seljuks conquered Anatolia and founded the Anatolian Seljuk State (1075 to 1308). Kösedağ defeat in 1243 caused the Anatolian Seljuk State to succumb to the Mongol domination. Later on, the overthrow of the Anatolian Seljuk State in 1308 as a result of the frequent invasions of Anatolia and raids by the Mongols and the death of Ilhanli ruler Ebu Said Bahadir Khan in 1335 led the Turkmen principalities in Anatolia to move more freely. Turkmens, settled at the far ends of the country due to the Mongol invasions in the 13th century, established Karamanogullari, Germiyanogullari, Hamidogullari, Saruhanogullari, Karasiogullari, Inancogullari, Esrefogullari, Menteseogullari, Candarogullari, Pervaneogullari, Ramazanogullari, Taceddinogullari, Sahibataogullari, Dulkadirogullari, Cobanogullari, Aydinogullari principalities. After the Mongol invasion, I tried to comprehensively examine how the deteriorated political and social structure of Anatolia was restored by the principalities and how these principalities contributed to an institutional identity and to the Turkification and the Islamization process of Anatolia through the institutions they established.
