A research regarding the determinationof the quality problem related to the jeans (denim) production

It has been understood that Turkey should develop new strategies to be able tocompete with both China and Far East due to the elimination of quotas in 2005 and thecountries which are developing similar to its own structure. First of all, manufacturing qualityproducts and becoming different from the other countries is required. The biggest factor to beable to do it so is to give necessary importance for R & D workings, and to present the qualityTurkish product by Turkish trade mark to the market of world. Quality has got greatimportance nowadays in the sector of ready wear sector as it is so in every sector.In this research, it has been tried to be able to determine the quality problems met inthe sector of ready wear sector during producing jeans, and in which stage these problems aremet.The universe of the research is constituted by the textile firms that carry out producingjeans in stanbul province. Its sampling is constituted by the 62 firms chosen at randomamongst those firms In the research, method of survey has been used. In order to collect thedata, public survey has been prepared. In order to measure the reliability of the poll questions,Cronbach Alpha (a) test, which is the analysis of reliability has been referred to. All thequestions have been between the values of 0,813 ? 0,818, and it has been proved that it hasgot high degree reliability and validity.In accordance with the analysis carried out, it has concluded that the firms thatparticipated in the research met problems in the different stages of the production withoutconsidering the criterion. During the progression of reaching the target quality policies, it hasbeen determined that the firms had problems because of different reasons. As the result of theanalysis performed, it has been determined that the firms came face to face with problemswhile purchasing supplementary materials, taking and cutting pastal, carrying out sewing,washing jeans, ironing, and during the progression after it. It has also been determined that theestablishments didn?t take care the directives that determined the policies of quality controland quality much , and some suggestions have been told them in that direction.
