Abstract (EN)
After Turkish national fight for independence ended with success, the Republic of Turkey began putting effort into developments in almost all aspects. Economic development of Anatolian people, most of whom consisted of peasants, gaining national identity and promoting the immemorial Turkish history to its place among the global cultures have particularly been aimed. It's caught attention that scientific studies on village institutes are mostly publications about targets, processes and outcomes of agricultural and technical lessons. In order to understand that time's economic policies, it's extremely important to analyse the agricultural and technical lesson studies and outcomes. However, it is also equally important that education of Turkish culture and nationalism is handled as a research object, which will direct Anatolian people's identity, culture and intellectual movement. By setting light to education of Turkish culture and nationalism in village institutes, also, in a way, the ideology of Turkey at the time has also been enlightened. The curriculums have always been methodized to serve certain purposes by academic developers. As for course books, they have been the basic materials of education and guides followed by the educators. In this study, the inclusion of functions about Turkish culture and nationalism in course books used in cultural lessons of KEÖP 1943-1947 and village institutes have been revealed. In the study, "Historical Research Method" which is one of the "Qualitative Research" methods has been used. The findings have been approached with "Discourse Analysis Method" and the intended conclusions and functions have been submitted. It can be seen in the research results that the course books which have been examined covers many functions about values and elements of Turkish culture. Nevertheless, regarding Turkish culture and nationalism, extreme or deficient information and statements varying by subjects have been noticed.
