Abstract (EN)
The history of human use of mud as a building material is as old as its own existence. When the first person to escape from the caves felt the need to build a shelter for himself in order to preserve his existence, he found and used the most natural materials such as stone, soil, water and wood. The adobe material obtained by blending soil and water and adding straw has been used as a building material for years. Its main advantages are that it is both economical and easily available. However, it is expected that our structures, which are closely associated with natural events throughout our age and even human history, will show resistance to these natural events. In order to provide this required strength, adobe material, which has been used as a building material for centuries, has been tried to be developed with materials with different properties. In this study, the effects on both strength and permeability were investigated by adding gypsum up to 10% of the soil weight, sheep wool up to %3, %6, %9 and %12 of the straw weight, and glass fiber instead of straw. As a result of the examination, it has been observed that adobe with sheep wool additives gives better results both in itself and in bending, pressure, ultra sound velocity and radiation impermeability tests compared to traditional and glass fiber added adobe. Based on the results of these experiments, it has been seen that adobe with sheep wool is a more durable and impermeable material.
