Abstract (EN)

This study was; It was prepared to investigate the effect of socio-economic factors in migration from rural to urban between 1990 and 2007 in Siirt province and to determine the main causes of migration. Within the scope of the research, 199 surveys and 30 interview interviews were conducted with individuals aged 35 and over in 9 neighborhoods in the province of Siirt, where it was determined that they received intense migration in the said dates. Within the scope of the survey and interview study conducted, it was determined that the main reason of migration from rural areas to Siirt province between 1990-2007 was a security problem caused by terrorist acts, and that people were forced to migrate due to security reasons, and important data about the difficulties experienced during the migration process and those left behind was obtained. Therefore, these migration movements differ in terms of the reasons of migration in other geographical regions, these differences have been expressed and solution suggestions have been presented regarding the negative effects of the migration movement.
