Legal nature of cryptocurrencies and evaluation within the scope of execution law

The subject of this thesis is the legal nature of cryptocurrencies, which have been widely used in recent years, and their evaluation in terms of enforcement law. Cryptocurrencies are seen as an important milestone in the financial world due to their features such as not needing any central authority, fast and low cost transfer, and providing privacy and security. There is no generally accepted determination regarding the legal nature of cryptocurrencies yet. The uncertainty of the legal nature of cryptocurrencies also complicates the resolution of disputes in the field of law. In this study, first of all, the concepts, history and functions of money, electronic money and cryptocurrency and also the blockchain technology are discussed. Then, the possibilities within the scope of the legal nature of cryptocurrencies were evaluated, and the studies and practices of countries in this field were examined. The ability of cryptocurrencies to be subject to enforcement proceedings and seizure in terms of enforcement law has been evaluated, and suggestions have been presented in this context. Finally, a survey was conducted to determine the awareness of cryptocurrencies by the legal community and the views of the legal community on enforcement law practices, and the findings were interpreted.
