Abstract (EN)

The aim of this thesis is to examine and explain the examples of the use of crypto currency types that emerged as of 2009 and then increased in social aid campaigns. Crypto currencies work in a digital format, independent of governments, and bring about economic, political and social developments. With the emergence of Bitcoin, the first crypto currency, many governments have tried to understand this situation, while some see this money as a threat to their economy and some governments have turned it into an opportunity. Inevitably, this was related to the international nature and autonomous development of crypto currencies. While crypto currencies emerged as a new economic opening, they also brought a lot of social responses. It is seen that the aid campaigns that emerged with the focus of crypto money are planned internationally and digitally. On the basis of this, the issue of matching money with need has come to the fore. In this thesis, humanitarian campaigns created with crypto money are examined. Many researches and publications have been done about crypto currency formats. But what distinguishes and authenticates this research is to reveal how crypto money is used in social assistance campaigns. In this study, a literature search was conducted in order to understand the economic process of crypto currencies and their use in social aid campaigns, and the relevant resources were systematically searched and compiled meaningful information.
