The effect of internal communication on administrative functions in crises and disasters and a research

In this research, the effect of public employees' perceptions of internal communication on managerial functions in crisis and disaster situations was examined. In this context, a quantitative research was carried out. The universe of the study consists of public employees in the province of Bitlis. Random sampling method was adopted as the sample. Data were collected from 448 people using the questionnaire technique. The obtained data were processed into the SPSS 25 package program. In the research, reliability, exploratory and confirmatory factor, frequency, correlation and multiple regression analyzes were performed. As a result of the analysis; It has been observed that all sub-dimensions of internal communication have a significant effect on management's directing and control functions. In addition, it has been determined that the sub-dimensions of communication with colleagues, communication with colleagues and communication with managers of internal communication have a significant effect on the organization and directing functions of management. Finally, it has been seen that the communication dimension of the internal communication with the managers has a significant effect on the planning function of the management. According to the analysis results; It can be said that the communication quality of the participants about their institutions and the perception and knowledge level of the applicability of management functions in crisis and disaster situations in their institutions are good. However, the low average of directing from the management functions can be evaluated as the managers in the institutions of the employees cannot motivate themselves well in the crisis and disaster management process and cannot perform an effective leadership.
