SUMMARY CRİSİS NEWS AND ETHİCS: CORONAVİRUS PANDEMİC İN TELEVİSİON NEWS CASE OF ATV AND FOX TV Crises are defined as situations that develop suddenly, unexpectedly, and which are difficult to predict before and to intervene afterwards, which bring emotions such as risk, uncertainty, panic and fear. Crisis journalism, on the other hand, covers the journalism activities carried out in times of crisis. Crises stand out as newsworthy developments that, by their nature, cannot be ignored by the media. These periods are also the times when the public's need for information greatly increases and the ethical principles of journalism are violated the most. In this thesis titled "Coronavirus Pandemic in Crisis Journalism and Ethical Television News", the coronavirus pandemic has been examined within the scope of crisis reporting and ethics. The coronavirus, which emerged in the city of Wuhan, located in the Hubei region of China in the last months of 2019, turned into a global health crisis in a short time. In this study, news with coronavirus content in ATV and FOX TV weekdays and weekend main news bulletins from March 11, 2020, when the first case was seen in Turkey, to March 31, 2020, were examined by quantitative and qualitative content analysis method.
