Abstract (EN)
Our study titled "Common Folk Beliefs in Kırkağaç and Its Surroundings" consists of four headings. In the introduction title of our study, information about the geographical location, history, social and economic structure, source of its name and educational status of Kırkağaç district is given. In the second title, folk beliefs about transition periods throughout the district are grouped as birth, marriage, circumcision and death, and these beliefs are evaluated in terms of the History of Religions. In the third title, beliefs about nature throughout the district were grouped as rain prayer, trees-forest, animals, water, fire, places to visit and were evaluated in terms of the History of Religions. In the fourth title, "Evaluation of Beliefs Related to Folk Medicine and Hearths", the beliefs developed within the framework of six treatment centers related to folk medicine are explained and they are evaluated in terms of the History of Religions. The data of our study were obtained by using literature review and field study, which are qualitative research methods. The obtained data were written down using descriptive and phenomenological methods.
