Signalized traffic junctions in Kirikkale city center: The Samsun boulevard case

In Recent years, most of the traffic accidents and traffic congestion have occured at junctions of inner city roads. Therefore, the importance of the junctions have been increasing every day. To ensure the sustainability of urban transport and traffic safety, the inner city collector - distributer traffic routes should be examined and precautions should be taken to prevent traffic accidents and traffic congestion.This study determines the problems about signal parameters, traffic load, traffic circulation and accident proportions of five signalized junctions located on the Samsun Boulevard which is the most important collector and distributer road in the city center of Kırıkkale. The aim of the thesis is to offer solutions for traffic congestion and provide safety, sustainable traffic for Samsun Boulevard.
