Abstract (EN)

In today's textile industry, photochromic dyes which come to the fore with their use in the field of fashion, but have a wide range of applications, can be used to provide functional features such as protecting, marking and preventing imitation. These dyes are dyes that can change colour with UV or visible light. They are usually colourless in the dark environment but the molecular structure of the material changes when exposed to sunlight or UV radiation and thus colour formation occurs. With microencapsulation technology, it is possible to protect these dyes against environmental effects for a long time, improve their application to textile materials and increase their photochromic effects. Three different photochromic dyes that photochromic contents 1,1'-Diheptyl-4,4'-bipyridinium dibromide; 1',3'-Dihydro-1',3',3'-trimethyl-6-nitrospiro[2H-1-benzopyran-2,2'-(2H)-indole] and 1',3'-Dihydro-8-methoxy-1',3',3'-trimethyl-6-nitrospiro[2H-1-benzopyran-2,2'-(2H)-indole] were encapsulated with shell materials (ethyl cellulose, melamine-urea-formaldehyde), according to microencapsulation methods, coacervation and in-situ polymerization methods. Characterization studies of the produced microcapsules were carried out by FTIR (Fouier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy), XRD (X-Ray Diffractometer), DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry), SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) and particle size and distribution analysis and microcapsules were applied to textile products (yarn and weaving fabric) according to yarn dyeing method and printing methods. For the effectiveness of microcapsules with photochromic properties on the textile obtained products, colour changes were observed under different light sources and colour values were determined. Also in this study, the effects of microcapsules with photochromic properties obtained in laboratory conditions were compared with the results provided by commercial photochromic dyes in three different colours (violet, blue and orange) available in the market. In this thesis, the use of photochromic dyes to prevent counterfeiting was investigated. It is aimed to transfer the company name or logo on the edge weaves of woven fabrics with dyed yarns or by direct printing on the stenter machine before the final drying. As a result of the studies, it has been revealed that the application can be used to identify counterfeit products.
