Abstract (EN)

Pain can be defined as an unpleasant condition that negatively affects a person's life. Unless chronic pain is treated effectively, a sedentary life, obesity and psychological problems are inevitable. Goal; To investigate whether nutrition, lifestyle, presence of intestinal diseases, sleep patterns, body mass index and body muscle/fat amounts affect chronic pain control. The study was initiated with 50 male and 50 female patients aged 18-50 years, either treated or untreated for chronic pain. Patients who have severe heart disease, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, hypertension, Alzheimer's, dementia, Parkinson's disease, stroke, psychiatric disease, and those who took medication other than pain were not included in the study. For this reason, since various additional chronic diseases mentioned above were detected in a total of 10 patients, 2 women and 8 men, they were excluded from the study. Therefore, the study continued with 48 female and 42 male patients. The study was conducted in people who applied to Amasya University Sabuncuoğlu Şerefeddin Training and Research Hospital due to pain or had chronic pain. The patients participating in the study were fasted for at least 12 hours and scan samples were taken from the antecubital vein. The blood samples taken were centrifuged for 20 minutes in Amasya University Central Laboratory and stored at -80 0C for 1 week until all samples were taken. In our study, tryptophan blood concentration values of 0,58-1,57 µg/ml and tyrosine blood concentration values of 35-102 µg/ml were accepted as normal. Values above these values were considered high. Survey information (exercise, sleep, eating habits, chronic pain, presence of bowel disease, age, gender, treatments), body analysis scale results (body mass index, body muscle/fat ratio) and blood samples (plasma tryptophan) obtained in our study and tyrosine levels) were evaluated in terms of statistical significance. As a result, it was determined that diet and body mass index are important in chronic pain control, but tryptophan and tyrosine values alone do not make sense. Sports, which is necessary for a healthy life, have positive effects on the course of treatment.
