The evalution of geographical environment potential of Tunceli in terms of rural development

Economic and social changes, that mankind experienced, have brought about lots of problems. For the resolution to these problems, new approaches and political politics have ensued each other. The differences in economic and welfare levels between the countries in the world have revealed some kinds of discriminations; such as Developed Countries, Developing Countries and Undeveloped Countries. Undeveloped or Developed Countries have followed different policies to reduce and remove the socio-economic differences between the places, with the adequate and balanced usage of sources. Rural Development has become more and more important for the countries all over the world. In Rural areas, the troubles such as poverty, unemployment, misusage of the lands, the decline in water sources, and migrations due to the social problems, overpopulation in towns, urban sprawl, pollution, economic problems, the deterioration of unprotected natural environment have necessitated enhancement in development activities in rural areas. The study area, Tunceli is a city, located in Upper Euprates of East Anatolian Region, has 8 districts and 9 municipalities, 43 neighborhoods, 361 villages. It is known that there has been an intensive migration from rural areas in recent years. The social problems of Tunceli the country, such as; technical infrastructure, education, socio-cultural design, agricultural production, employment, terror cases caused the population to migrate to city centre and the other domestic / foreign settlement. Resolution of problems, inhibition of migration, providing social wealth, determination of primary concerns of rural areas for the ascent of economical fund are important in Tunceli. In this study, handled in 16 villages totally, findings about general situations of villages, socio-economic structure of the people live in the villages, and their suggestions about the problems of the village they locate in and the solutions of those problems, if they are informed of Rural Development, the statute of woman in family and their participation in the Rural Development studies are found out. At the end of the study, with the participation of the people live in the village, Socio-economic problems in rural areas of Tunceli, potential and suggestions as to Rural Development, are revealed and evaluated.
