Investigation of the words in the tales collected from Kırşehir in terms of meaning amelioration and meaning degeneration

Fairy tales, one of the important transmission means of social memory, have accumulated from the past to the present. Fairy tales contain the pain, joys, hopes, moral issues, and unwritten rules of the society in which they were born. There are a lot of advice and messages to be drawn from fairy tales. Fairy tales are one of the most valuable cultural transmitters, as they are a guiding resource for future generations and contain the memory of the society. The words contained in the fairy tales, which are of great importance as cultural transmitters, constitute a subject of research and analysis in their own right. In this study, the rich vocabulary contained in the fairy tales compiled from Kırşehir was examined in terms of meaning amelioration and meaning degeneration. The study consists of "Introduction", "Meaning and Signification", "Analysis of Tales Collecting from Kırşehir in Terms of Meaning Amelioration and Meaning Degeneration" and "Conclusion" sections. In the "Introduction" section, detailed information is given about the language, Kırşehir tale-telling tradition and concept of fairy tales. In the first section named "Meaning and Signification", detailed information about the concepts of meaning, signification, meaning amelioration and meaning degeneration were given and the data obtained were interpreted and transferred. In the second section "Analysis of Tales Collecting from Kırşehir in Terms of Meaning Amelioration and Meaning Degeneration", the words that underwent amelioration and degeneration in the fairy-tale-telling tradition were identified and examined and explained with examples. In the "Conclusion" section, the data obtained were subjected to a general evaluation. Meaning amelioration and degeneration is a common form of meaning change in Turkish vocabulary.
