Determination of phenotypic parameters in simmental cattle raised in Kırşehi̇r

In this study, the yield records of 846 Simmental breeds raised in Kırşehir province between 2007 and 2017 were evaluated. Among the milk yield characteristics, 305 days milk yield (305 DMY), lactation lenght (LL) and dry period (DP) reproductive fertility characteristics calving interval (CI). were evaluated. The effects of calving year, parity, calving season and farm size on the specified characteristics were investigated. Descriptive statistics for 305 DMY, LL, DP and CI were determined as 3847.4±46, 374.47 ± 4.10, 64.88 ± 1.15 and 438.52 ± 8.19, respectively. The effect of calving season and parity on 305 DMY and LL is significant (p<0.01), the effect of calving year and farm size on 305 DMY is insignificant (p>0.05), and the effect of calving year on LL is significant (p<0,01), the effect of farm size was found to be statistically ineffective (p>0.05). The effect of parity, calving season and farm size on DP and calving interval is insignificant (p>0.05), the effect of calving year DP is insignificant (p>0.05), and the effect on CI is significant (p<0.01).. As a result, it is thought that with this study, the phenotypic parameters of milk yield characteristics of Simmental cattle raised in Kırşehir province and region can increase the success of selection in breeding studies and be a guide for future generations.
