Abstract (EN)

In this study, seven different bread wheat genotypes were used for obtaining four resistant x susceptible hybrids [Altay (resistant) x Harmankaya99 (susceptible); İzgi2001 (resistant) x ES14 (susceptible); Sönmez2001 (resistant) x Aytın98 (susceptible); PI178383 (resistant) x Harmankaya99 (susceptible) regarding yellow rust resistance and polymerase chain reactions (PCR) were performed by using 12 RGAP, 18 STS and 16 microsatellites primers that amplified molecular markers containing polymorphisms in terms of Yr5 gene, one of the stripe rust resistance gene located on the centromeric region of chromosome 2BL and responsible for seedling-stage resistance. Polymorphic markers will be screened on the resistant and susceptible F2 segregation analysis and mapping populations after the inoculation with the yellow rust races. Linkage of molecular markers to seedling-stage and adult plant stage resistant genes will be adapted to select durable wheat genotypes in plant breeding programs with marker assistant selection as a stable and effective method.
