Abstract (EN)
This study was made in order to search whether profesional skills suggested for he level ofjourneymanshıp in Hair Dresser?s Training Program meet the Professional skills as regards their levels,importance, necessities and frequency of being accomplıshed at their work-places.Forming the study cosmos are training programs of Vocatıonal High Schools, the Professional TrainingCentre, the Practıcal Crafts School for Girls and out of the hair dressers in Ankara, enterprises which employprobation students and apprentice students for a period of at least 3 years in accordance with the Apprenticeshipand Professional Training Law numberded 3308.Data used in this study was collected by way of the questionnaire developed by the researcher. Thequestionnaire was developed under the titles of hair dresser?s procedures, working habits, communucation skillsand Professional and personal skills. In the questıonnaire, Likert-type scale was used.Per cent values and frequencies of the answers to the statemens of the questionnaire by masterinstructors determined by the example were calculated, and tables and graphs were prepared which compare theper cent values of level, importance, necessity and being accomplıshed at their work-places of each statement ofskill.According to the data obtained by these tables and graphs, the Professional skills criteria in the trainingprograms in the scope of the study;Informing customers about the product and service, conducting the thechnical maintenance of toolsused in one?s field, reporting the needed consumable material, dying naturel hair, spot lightengh, streaking,making hairknot,developing an original model, applying make-up, using the sterilization device in accordancewith the applicable technique, using the tools related with one?s field in accordance with the occupational safetyrules, advising the customer about the pattern, orienting oneself to fields one is interested or has agabeylity in thedepartement, following the publıcations related with, in the rates of 50 % and over; in the journeymanshıp level,were found to be wry important and very necessary, and in the businesses were found to be realized frequently.According to these findings, it was concluded that the Professional skills criteria in question are entirelyappropriate to the expectations of the business market.On the other hand, whereas applying natural hair, perming and defreezing natural hair, setting of hair,finger waewing, plaiting, choosing and placing hair accessories, conducting maintenance of wigs, shapping andplacing wigs were found to be very important and very necessary in the journeymanshıp level, it was concludedthat these are Professional skills of medium freguency in the businesses and that they meet the market?sexpectations partly.In the light of the findings obtained as a result of the study, the necessity, importance, freguency ofbeing carried out in the busınesses and levels of Hairdressing Overseership level professional skills criteria wereinterpreted and, in the scope of the Apprenticeship and Professional Training Law number 3308, suggestionswere made related to arranging the Professional skill efficiencies found in the programs of institutions givingHairdressership training to meet the expectations of the business market.
