The study of dome-shaped constructions in terms of structure and materials

Throughout the ages mankind has been arches, vaults and domes has been influenced particular by; space covering, regional differences and consequent social, technical, cultural and spiritual beliefs has been based on various forms. The dome in this study was prepared by studying the structure and the material; The concept of the dome, structure, structural materials and coating materials were explained. The thesis consists of five chapters. In the introduction to the first part is a general introduction to the thesis, stating the purpose and scope of the study is to study describes the method followed. In the second part of the thesis the definition of the concept of the arch, the vault and the dome is made, the definition of transition elements in the domed structure were explained. Then type in terms of the architects of dome and, finally, describes the historical development of the dome. The third part is made from the perspective of structural systems and materials of the dome structure. In the fourth chapter is examined domed examples, it is a table created with the comparative examples. Then the samples are analyzed for the year of construction, the structure of the function, passed openness and plan geometry. In the fifth section, results section, an assessment is made of data obtained from other parts of the research, the study has tried to explain the results.
