Özet (EN)

Heavy metals have a significant importance because of environmental impacts which are still in nature and enhancing due to industrial facilities in water, soil and air systems. In the natural water resources, heavy metals are accumulated in the water body and also in sediment structure by reaching uncontrolled industrial wastewater discharges. They have adverse effects for living organisims by accumulating in the systems. Micro and macro organisms, that are living in water body and sediment structure, could sorb heavy metals and so heavy metals join to food chain. With the inorganic feature heavy metals are persist in water systems. Sediment, which adsorbed heavy metals, could leave them to the water and heavy metals could be carried with surface flow. In this work, relations of heavy metals (Fe, Zn, Cu) and sediment of Küçükçekmece Lagoon have been trying to determined by using batch reactor. Experimental studies have been carried out under conditions which are represented Küçükçekmece Lagoon. One of the important physicohemical parameter pH and different concentrations of heavy metals effects on adsorption process were investigated. The study showed that, heavy metals and sediment are revealed different adsorption patterns in different pH values. Keywords: Heavy metals, sediment, adsorption, pH, Küçükçekmece Lagoon
