Abstract (EN)

In heavy industries, as the size of the buildings increases, usage of cranes has been mandatory in an effort to build quicker these buildings. In heavy industries tower crane are used to lift and carry heavy materials. In order to prevent damage of the cranes during lifting heavy loads, strength calculations of the cranes are being investigated and are comparing with the results that are being obtained from finite element analysis. In the third chapter, the literature about cage systems has been described and it has been given detailed information about application of the systems on tower cranes. In the fourth chapter the technical specification of the tower crane has been described and the lifting height and the lifting payload has been given. In fifth chapter it has been given information in short about Finite Element Methods and Ansys software and it has described why we use Ansys the application of the systems on tower cranes. In sixth chapter according to FEM standards were subjected to load of the crane referenced, this load of deflection and stresses are calculated analytically and have been checked whether it is safe. In the seventh chapter, modelling and assembly of the crane is explained and the profile that is used has been given. In the eighth chapter, by using ANSYS program were obtained for von Mises stresses in the dangerous points of the crane and the consistency of the results have been analysed and compared with the analytical results. In the ninth chapter, blocks of Simmechanics have been described and the crane which is drawn in Solidworks is described to be transferred to Simmechanics section of Matlab. In the tenth Chapter, the dynamic behaviour of the crane and cranes has been investigated in unwanted oscillation when the angle of load-carrying rope; the rope length load weight, load weight of the car change according to the parameters has been investigated in Simmechanics. In the eleventh chapter, while an earthquake, one of the most dangerous areas of the crane is boom acceleration so that boom acceleration has been investigated in Simmechanics the counterweight, mast weight and force acting on car change according to the parameters.
