Abstract (EN)

Preservation and Presentation of Cultural Assets: Apollonia ad Rhyndacum Necropolis Open Air Museum The conscious of the protection of cultural assets began to develop in Europe in the 19th century. Fundamentals of contemporary and holistic conservation principles were laid in this period. Cultural assets should be evaluated together with the environment. As a reflection of holistic conservation intelligence,conservation and exhibition application are the purpose of the study open air museums. While preparing the thesis, national and international regulations and open-air museum examples were examined. According to the results the thesis is composed of four chapter. In the first chapter, the main material of the study, culture and cultural assets concepts were examined. In the second chapter, conservation of cultural assets and development process of conservation at national and international regulations featured. In the third chapter, open-air museums are considered as the approach of cultural assets' conservation and exhibition which constitute the main subject of the study. Formation criteria of open air museums are based on Interpretation of Cultural Heritage Areas Presentation Regulation. In the fourth chapter, Apollonia a.R. City and the necropolis area in the city are examined. Studies in the necropolis area are mentioned and projected open air museum proposal is presented.
